Stage-shop.com is an online catalogue for professionals and amateurs interested in the best spaces to experience theatre, cinema, or music. The site offers a diverse selection of products and parts for the professional stage manager or the do-it-yourself enthusiast seeking the perfect performance space or film experience Since 1989, Franco Camastra has led teams installing professional screens, theatre hardware, acoustic wall panels, and similar products. Most of that work was done while director of Camstage Ltd, now known as a leading UK supplier in the theatre and cinema industries.
Parts only for DYI
Camstage continues to offer services like design, installation, project management and emergency repairs.
Stage-shop fills another need.
"We realized that some people needed only the parts, not our expertise in putting them together," Franco said.
Thousands of companies offer similar products. Not all are products worth the time or money they cost, however.
"Stage-shop has the products and equipment we use," Eddie said. "That means these are good choices and fit for purpose."
A small business may need a simple screen and projector for a conference room. Both can be ordered at Stage-shop.
Home cinemas popular
Some film enthusiasts enjoy the challenge of outfitting cinemas in their homes.
The fan can choose the brands they want, knowing we have pre-selected the best models, he said.
Stage-shop saves the enthusiasts time and money with our preselection and easy checkout, he said. Stage-shop offers secure payment options, including most credit cards and PayPal.
Customers also can choose from a variety of delivery options.
"For many years, we had paper catalogues and flyers" he said. "But the Internet allows us to offer a richer line of goods." For instance, we can now show all the hardware available for stage grids, Franco said.
Some products can't be ordered online because they need to be bespoke for each place. Those products include screen frames and curtains.
Take curtains, for instance.
On the Camstage site, we offer several articles in our knowledge base so people can learn about the types and styles of curtains, Franco said. We also offer swatches there so that people can see the range of colours and textures, he said.
But over the years, we have learned that a curtain purchase usually requires an on-site visit or a lengthy discussion to ensure the right-size curtains are ordered, he said.
The online site often gives potential customers an opportunity to review products to get an understanding about available options before hiring Camstage to design and install projects.
The site also opens up time for the Camstage duo to do what they do best -- bespoke solutions for what some call impossible.
Those impossible solutions are showcased at the 2012 Olympics, at McLaren's race car training centres, and in a castle turned into a business executive centre. The Camstage company web site showcases those challenges and other products.
